In 2016, The Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade was entering its 90th year and still finding fresh ways to interact with spectators. We joined PSD (www.piratesharkdinosaur.com), our friend production house from New York in the challenge to engage customers in new ways — to demonstrate that the
parade is as vital today as it was in 1925, 1965 and 1985.
With TIME TRAVELER technology, consumers could stand in front of Macys flag Store during the 2017 Thanksgiving Day Parade, and see what it looked in the past.
The app we worked upon could use viewer device camera and accelerometer in conjunction with photorealistic CG in order to create a hybrid VR experience: You move, and the past moves with you!
Customers used their mobile devices to experience new angles on the storied event in the comfort of
their own homes, at their local Macy’s, or at the flagship Macys in NYC.
The MACY’S VR PARADE experience was packaged exclusively for Macy’s in a white label app that users could download and use anywhere in the world.
